We give thanks to God for the buildings we have at IBTSE. It is a privilege to be located so close to the city of Barcelona, the airport, and the train station. We have classrooms, office space, a cafeteria, and dorm rooms that have served us well for many years.

Our building is an old hotel, built in the 1950s. We are grateful for how the Lord has preserved it over the years. Recently, however, the local government has required us to make substantial structural upgrades, including fire resistant doors and walls, forced air ventilation, and improved handicap access. It will cost around $400,000 to make the necessary improvements. We do have the possibility to finance some of the reforms, but not all of them. A gift of any amount helps us reach our goal of the funds needed for the project.

Support IBSTE Student Scholarships

Every year there are students who stop studying at IBSTE and others who do not even begin our program due to lack of financial resources. Contributing to our scholarship fund allows more students to enroll and complete their studies. It is an investment in the future of the evangelical church in Spain.

Our program is very affordable (less than $4800 per year). A donation of $2400 (or $200 / month) pays half the academic tuition for a year. A donation like this, or of any other quantity, would be a significant help to a needy student.

We give thanks to God for our dedicate teaching staff. We keep our pricing low to help more students receive training. This means, however, that we cannot cover our professor’s salaries only with income from student tuition.

Your added support will ensure that both teacher and student are able to focus on growing in the love and knowledge of our Savior.

IBSTE (Instituto Bíblico y Seminario Teológico de España) is a fully-accredited seminary in Barcelona, Spain. For over 45 years it has been providing training for pastors and others interested in growing in their knowledge of Christ and filling their toolboxes for effective ministry in Spain and in other parts of the Spanish speaking world.

As with other seminaries, IBSTE is unable to cover all its expenses with student tuition alone. It depends partly on generous donations from churches and individuals in Spain and other parts of the world. At IBSTE, we are thankful to be able to continue our teaching ministry this year in spite of all the difficulties occasioned by the COVID pandemic. Currently our classes are in person and online, in conformity with government regulations.

Our finances, however, have suffered due to the present situation. Most significantly, our residency hall has been basically empty since last January. The lack of students and other groups using the residency will mean a loss of approximately 150,000 Euros of income for IBSTE this school year, or about one third of our annual operating budget.

Lord willing, restrictions will be lifted by January, 2022, allowing us to go back to a normal use of our residency. In the meantime, would you consider a special gift toward helping us make up for this deficit?
